Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe is bringing coverage of Australian Open tennis to Max for the first time. Viewers in Europe will be able to stream every match alongside enhanced in-app product features.

Eurosport coverage will also be available on Discovery+ and on WBD-owned linear channels Denmark (Kanal 5), Sweden (Kanal 9), Finland (TV5) and Norway (Rex).

Eurosport has assembled a cast of tennis experts who will be on-site to bring viewers closer to the major stories and players competing. Star names include double Australian Open (AO) singles champion Jim Courier who will feature as part of Eurosport’s international coverage for the first time. He joins seven-time Grand Slam singles champion John McEnroe, AO mixed doubles finalist Barbara Schett and Olympic silver medallist Laura Robson as Eurosport’s eyes and ears at Melbourne Park.

Following all the action from the dynamic mixed reality Curve studio in London, three-time AO singles champion Mats Wilander joins Olympic silver medallist Tim Henman and presenter Rachel Stringer for daily pre and post-match shows. Completing the line-up is two-time AO winner Boris Becker who will offer analysis and punditry for German and international viewers; the 2004 AO singles champion Justine Henin appears for French and international fans; Olympic bronze medallist Alex Corretja presents for Spanish and international audiences; with Carla Suarez Navarro and Nicolas Almagro appearing in Spain; Roberta Vinci in Italy; and Barbara Rittner and Andrea Petkovic in Germany.

Scott Young, Group SVP Content, Production and Business Operations at WBD Sports Europe, said: “The Australian Open is the event that kickstarts our year of live sport and the 2025 tournament is shaping up to be a mouthwatering feast of tennis. We will transport the unique fast-paced play and electric atmospheres from Melbourne Park to viewers all across Europe by telling the stories of this epic event and its athletes. Our immersive studio innovations coupled with the expert viewpoints of the sport’s greatest stars – including Jim Courier who we welcome to Eurosport for the first time – will deliver the best possible viewing experience.

Eurosport’s coverage of the 2025 Australian Open on Max and discovery+ is underway with the qualifiers taking place ahead of the main singles draw starting live on Eurosport 1 from 01:30 CET on Sunday 12 January.
