Zattoo appoints Klaus Nadler as Chief Sales Officer

December 19, 2024 23.05 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

TV streaming provider Zattoo has appointed Klaus Nadler as its new Chief Sales Officer (CSO), effective 1 January 2025.

Nadler, who brings over 25 years of experience in media, marketing and digital transformation, will succeed Oliver Knappmann, who is leaving the company after several years of heading Zattoo’s advertising division.

In his new role, Nadler will focus on strengthening Zattoo’s position in digital advertising. His responsibilities include developing innovative, data-driven advertising formats, exploring new revenue opportunities in the connected TV space and managing the company’s advertising teams in Germany and Switzerland. These teams cover areas such as ad sales, ad operations, programmatic management and key account management.

Most recently, Nadler was a partner at Leader Selection Executive Search, specialising in digital transformation and media leadership recruitment. He previously served as Lead Partner for Digital Marketing at Deloitte, where he developed strategies for data-driven marketing and media solutions.

From 2017 to 2021, Nadler was CEO of Carat Germany, a leading media agency under the Dentsu Aegis Network, where he spearheaded the agency’s digital transformation and solidified its market position. He has also held leadership roles at Goldbach Group, overseeing its digital strategy and German market entry, as well as at GroupM Services AG, IP Deutschland (RTL Group) and Versatel.

The decision to bring in a new CSO aligns with Zattoo’s broader strategic goals. Oliver Knappmann, who previously led the advertising division, is credited with launching key innovations, including the Dynamic Ad Substitution (DAS) product, which became a cornerstone of Zattoo’s platform for broadcasters and business clients. He also played a significant role in introducing new FAST Channels to expand Zattoo’s content offerings. In recent years, Knappmann also served as Chief Climate Officer, focusing on the company’s sustainability initiatives.

“I look forward to driving innovation in our advertising solutions and working with our talented team to meet the needs of our clients and users. By focusing on data-driven advertising formats and addressing the expectations of both our customers and users, we will strengthen Zattoo’s position as a leading partner for digital advertising in the DACH region,” said Nadler.

Zattoo CEO Roger Elsener added: “With Klaus Nadler, we gain an experienced expert in the marketing and strategic development of digital advertising solutions. His deep understanding of our markets and partners, combined with his strong network, will be instrumental in advancing the growth of Zattoo’s advertising business in the DACH region and beyond.”

Elsener also expressed gratitude to Knappmann for his contributions: “Oliver has played a key role in shaping Zattoo’s success over more than a decade. His efforts in developing innovative ad formats and sustainable strategies have left a lasting impact. We wish him all the best for the future.”
