Ocilion adds ORF ON to IPTV platform

December 10, 2024 15.54 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

IPTV service provider Ocilion has concluded a long-term cooperation agreement with Austrian public broadcaster ORF for the distribution of its streaming service ORF ON on the IPTV platform.

As a result of this agreement, numerous local and regional network operators in Austria can now enable their customers to access the extensive ORF live and on-demand content on their TV sets as a new service. In addition, several ORF streams will also be available to network operators in Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.

“With this new cooperation, ORF is continuing its strategy of making its streaming services available via ORF ON not only on the web, smartphones and tablets, but also on other platforms and end devices. With Ocilion as a partner, we will be able to reach customers of many local and regional network operators and thus enable them to use our content on their flatscreens,” said Dr Harald Kräuter, ORF Director of Technology and Digitisation.

“It is a very strong signal to our customers that we have been able to reach this comprehensive agreement with a major partner such as ORF,” said Thomas Bichlmeir, Chief Product Officer at Ocilion. “This cooperation underlines our strategy of offering all relevant content to users in both linear and non-linear formats.”

Ocilion supplies network operators in German-speaking countries with an comprehensive white-label IPTV system including 4K set-top boxes, apps, an integrated video library and extensive channel rights. Almost 100 providers now use Ocilion’s IPTV platform for their own TV service.
