Ipsos has confirmed it has no immediate plans to submit an offer for the acquisition of fellow research organisation Kantar Media.
“After careful review of a potential acquisition of Kantar Media, Ipsos has, at this time, decided not to submit a binding offer,” the company said in a statement.
Previously, the Paris-based company confirmed talks that its said were “in line with the company’s strategy to regularly evaluate investment opportunities that may strengthen its market position”.
A sale of Kantar could be worth over €1 billion. Its largest shareholders are US private equity firm Bain Capital and advertising and communications company WPP.
