Ipsos has confirmed press speculation that it is in discussion with fellow research organisation Kantar Media over a potential acquisition.
The Paris-based company said the talks were “in line with the company’s strategy to regularly evaluate investment opportunities that may strengthen its market position”.
A sale of Kantar could be worth over €1 billion. It’s largest shareholders are US private equity firm Bain Capital and advertising and communications company WPP.
Ipsos says it will not provide any further comment.
