Teleste strengthens focus on North America

December 2, 2024 13.17 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Teleste Corporation has appointed Ulf Andersson as EVP & GM of its Broadband Networks business unit, while Hanno Narjus moves to Industry Relations.

Andersson will take responsibility for the global management of the unit from January 1, 2025 and will be based in the United States. The company says that leading the business unit from North America supports the “strategic expansion and increased momentum towards that market”.

Prior to joining Teleste, Andersson was CEO of Falcon V Systems and CRO of MobiledgeX, a Silicon Valley startup. Before that, Ulf had a long executive career in Ericsson.

“I’m very excited to join the Teleste team and look forward to working with a group of experienced professionals in this world-class company.” says Ulf Andersson. “Teleste has a strong market position in Europe, and the ongoing expansion into the North American market has opened up the opportunity for significant business growth.”

The current business unit lead, Hanno Narjus, will continue with the company in a new role as Senior Fellow, Industry Relations. In this new thought leadership role, Hanno will participate in developing industry relations for the Broadband Networks business, as well as creating technology and ecosystem strategy. His responsibilities also include global market analysis, to help Teleste to continue to be a leader in the rapidly changing market environment.

“I warmly welcome Ulf to Teleste,” says Teleste’s CEO Esa Harju. “Ulf brings strong business management experience and personal networks in North America and globally. At the same time, it is great to continue working with Hanno in his new role. Hanno has long led Teleste’s market leadership in Europe and has built a strong foundation for further business growth and expansion in North America.”

In the last quarter, Teleste increased deliveries in North America, but continued to see low demand in Europe.
