New agreement with Disney+ completes Telia’s streaming offer

November 20, 2024 13.15 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Telia says it is the first and only supplier in Sweden with a complete range of the largest streaming services in the same place after a new agreement to carry Disney+.

The agreement means that Telia’s customers can enjoy new TV series, award-winning blockbusters and exclusive originals throughout the year from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star, as well as live football matches from the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League, exclusively on Disney+ in Sweden.

“Telia was recently named Sweden’s best TV provider again, an award they have received nine times in the last ten years. It is an impressive feat, and a strong proof of how much they invest in their customers. We are of course extremely proud to work together with them to further strengthen the customer experience through access to Disney+ and all its premium content, says Hans van Rijn, CEO, The Walt Disney Company Nordic & Baltic.

The Disney+ library of entertainment features an impressive selection of award-winning movies and TV series, such as FX’s The Bear, FX’s Shogun, and Only Murders in the Building. In addition, during the year, football fans can look forward to following three Swedish teams, Djurgården, Elfsborg and the champions from Malmö FF, who play in the UEFA Europa League or the UEFA Conference League.?

“We are incredibly happy to be able to welcome Disney+, which broadens our range with award-winning and long-awaited entertainment and even more sports. In the increasingly fragmented market, this creates even more value for our customers as this means that we, as the first in Sweden, become completely complete in terms of our total range of streaming services. So easier and better than ever for all our TV viewers,” says Oscar Karlsson, head of consumer business at Telia.

It should be noted that it is a Swedish tradition to watch a broadcast of Donald Duck’s Christmas at 3pm on Christmas Eve.
