A1 Serbia launches SkyShowtime

November 18, 2024 13.36 Europe/London By Julian Clover

A1 Serbia has become the first mobile operator in Serbia to partner with SkyShowtime.

The partnership was announced at an event at the Yugoslav Cinematheque in Belgrade, where VIP guests, media and fans gathered for an exclusive screening the second half of Season 5 in SkyShowtime’s globally acclaimed hit series Yellowstone.

A1 Serbia will offer both the SkyShowtime streaming service and two exclusive linear TV channels—SkyShowtime 1 and SkyShowtime 2. They will be available only to A1 Serbia customers through the A1 Xplore TV platform.

“With this partnership, A1 Group expands our universe of entertainment, providing users with the best of Hollywood content in one place,” said ?or?e Vuksanovi?, Director, A1 Serbia. “We are delighted to be leading the way in providing access to premium entertainment, without the need for complex payment systems, adapted to the Serbian language with subtitles. This step is crucial in building a stronger foundation for our converged services, especially as we expand our offerings in the fibre internet and television segments.”

The introduction of a linear version of SkyShowtime, which has been made available in other markets, is significant as it exposes linear audiences to the wider streaming service.

“We continue to explore ways to expand the SkyShowtime offering in Central and Eastern Europe, bringing audiences across the region great entertainment in one place at a great price,” said Hristina Georgieva, SkyShowtime Business Director. “This agreement with A1 means that even more people will have the opportunity to enjoy blockbuster movies, globally popular series and original programs available on SkyShowtime”.

Audiences will be able to enjoy content drawn from Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, Showtime, Sky Studios, Peacock, and Sky Showtime’s own Originals.
