Whale TV and TPV have announced an extension of their partnership that will see Whale TV maintain the TV OS and platform for select TV models.
The two are looking to expand market share in Asia, Middle East and Africa.
“We have been working with TPV for many years and together we shipped millions of smart TVs around the world. We license our TV OS to TPV but also are responsible for platform maintenance such as updates, device management, app onboarding and certification,” said Jason He, CEO of Whale TV.
In emerging markets, TPV smart TVs will be powered by the smart & simple Whale TV operating system. The independent Whale TV was created in 2011 and has over 41 million active TVs across 400 TV brands.
