Green Streams and Swisscom join forces in Swiss market

October 29, 2024 11.22 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German IPTV/OTT platform provider Green Streams and Swiss telco Swisscom have teamed up to offer a B2B TV and entertainment service for network operators in Switzerland.

As part of the strategic partnership, Green Streams has integrated Swisscom’s TV and video backend and content delivery network (CDN) with the Green Streams Media Integration Platform and the Green Streams frontend applications, creating a white-label product for network operators of all sizes.

Since the contract between the two companies was signed in summer 2024, Green Streams’ end-to-end IPTV service has quickly gained traction in the Swiss market, covering all relevant end devices, from set-top boxes, smart TVs and Apple TV to mobile devices.

Green Streams also provides ready-made meta-aggregation of 3rd party content. This means that Netflix, Disney+ and other relevant SVOD providers are already integrated in the set-top box launcher without the individual network operator having to conclude an individual contract with them.

Each network operator can thus operate freely on the market under its own brand, with its own product logic, its own upselling logic and its own content discovery – without restrictions. This is a significant leap compared to all end-to-end offerings on the Swiss market, according to Green Streams.

Green Streams will present its end-to-end IPTV service, including the streams provided by Swisscom, for the first time live at the Suisse Digital Day in Bern on 19 November 2024.

“With Green Streams, we have found a strong strategic partner that will set the standard in Europe in terms of multi-client capability and flexibility,” said Elias Gutscher, Lead Partner Integrations TV & Entertainment at Swisscom. “We are convinced that Green Streams’ offering, which is based on our modern video backend platform, is particularly attractive for small and medium-sized network operators, both technologically and commercially.“

Gernot Jaeger, CEO of Green Streams, added: “It was clear to us that the Swisscom video backend is the best option for offering Swiss network operators of all sizes the best IPTV and OTT product in combination with the Green Streams platform. Together, we are setting new standards in terms of quality, reliability, redundancy and efficiency, and we have put together a package that will help network operators achieve their TV and entertainment goals.”
