TF1 is to add two significant content providers to its platform in October.
The French commercial broadcaster has agreed partnerships with cultural channel ARTE and the US television group Hearst, the former A&E Television Network.
The partnerships will increase the number of available hours on the streaming service to over 25,000. TF1 already has agreements in place with of L’Équipe, Le Figaro and Deezer.
TF1+ users will now have direct access to several thousand hours from Arte including documentaries, series, films, magazines and concert, available to stream for free. Hearst will bring 700 hours of documentary programs in genres ranging from extreme to true crime, from history to paranormal, from real estate to science.
“We are particularly proud of these partnerships which reinforce our aggregation strategy,” said Rodolphe Belmer, Chairman and CEO, TF1. “They will allow a wide audience to see or re-see programmes of high editorial standards that have won many awards at festivals.”
In the first half of the year, TF1+ has already attracted 4 million daily streamers and 33 million monthly streamers (with a record in May of 35.4 million).
