Makedonski Telekom and MediaKind unveil MagentaTV

September 16, 2024 10.09 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

MediaKind in partnership with Makedonski Telekom are launching MagentaTV, the next generation of digital TV services.

Powered by MediaKind’s MediaFirst Cloud TV platform, the MagentaTV service is redefining the television experience in North Macedonia, offering customers an advanced, personalised viewing experience.

The collaboration between MediaKind and MKT highlights their combined strength in designing and implementing a service that aligns with changing consumer habits. In addition to MediaFirst, MediaKind’s deployment includes its Video Storage and Processing Platform (VSPP) and Content Management System (CMS), which are delivered in a SaaS model.

“MagentaTV is a pivotal evolution in television that addresses the new digital era and the changing interests of our customers,” said Emilija Andonovska, Chief Commercial Officer B2C at Makedonski Telekom.

“As pioneers of interactive television on the market, we’ve consistently innovated by introducing new features that have revolutionized the traditional TV viewing experience. With MediaKind’s collaboration, we have ensured MagentaTV is much more than a new upgrade; it is a completely new platform that provides access to numerous applications and allows viewers to watch content wherever, whenever, and on whichever device they choose.”

MagentaTV is accessible on all devices, including traditional TV sets, smartphones, tablets, and laptops, delivering a user experience that viewers can enjoy anytime and anywhere. With the integration of the AndroidTV platform and pre-installed applications, MKT has positioned itself as a leading content aggregator in the evolving TV ecosystem, offering users seamless access to a wide range of applications and services.

“The successful implementation of MagentaTV demonstrates our commitment to creating a win-win scenario for users, operators, and MediaKind, setting a new standard for digital television services in North Macedonia,” said Ashish Patel, President, Operator Platforms, MediaKind.

“This collaboration demonstrates our ability to support diverse operations, from large-scale deployments to niche markets, with the same level of quality and performance. By integrating our solutions, including MediaFirst, VSPP, and CMS within a SaaS model, we empower Makedonski Telekom to deliver an advanced OTT streaming platform that combines the latest generation user interface and a high quality service for MagentaTV viewers.”
