Síminn expands personalised experiences with XroadMedia

September 13, 2024 09.17 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Síminn, Iceland’s leading telecoms provider, has renewed its relationship with XroadMedia.

Since 2017, Síminn’s TV subscribers have been benefiting from personalized and tailored user experiences, powered by XroadMedia.

Building on the success of their existing partnership, XroadMedia will now provide its advanced decision engine technology to power targeted advertisements and Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV (FAST) channels for Síminn’s platform. This expansion aims to enhance the personalization of the user experience by delivering more relevant content and advertisements to viewers.

“We’ve had a successful, long-term partnership with XroadMedia, and we appreciate their talented team. We’re excited to continue working together to improve viewer experiences and offer Icelandic advertisers new ways to reach their target audience,” says David Gunnarsson, Director of TV Services, Síminn.

In order to match advertisements to the most appropriate users, XroadMedia translates known information about users into relevant ad taxonomies. This leverages sophisticated data analytics and AI-driven algorithms to deliver targeted ads tailored to individual preferences and viewing habits. Helping Síminn to build trust with their audiences and advertisers to reach specific audiences more effectively, enhancing user experiences with relevant and non-intrusive ad content.

In addition to targeted ads, the partnership will see the launch of several new FAST channels, providing viewers with a diverse range of free, ad-supported content. These channels will feature a variety of genres, including movies, series, documentaries, and more, catering to all subscribers in Siminn’s user base.

Adolf Proidl, Chief Executive Officer, XroadMedia commented: “It’s fantastic to continue to innovate with the team at Síminn. As one of our long-standing customers, we enjoy working with Siminn’s team to drive innovation and new personalization features. Ads are becoming a more important part of TV and on-demand services, but that doesn’t mean users accept a bad experience as a result. In addition to a smooth integration of ads, we believe personalization will make sure users do not get annoyed with irrelevant ads and advertisers get more bang for their buck.”
