wedotv adopts Zixi to distribute content to partners

September 11, 2024 21.42 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

FAST Channel operator wedotv has chosen Zixi, a provider of live broadcast-quality video over any IP network, to distribute its channels to partners across the globe.

By shifting content distribution from legacy FAST service providers to the cloud-based Zixi infrastructure, wedotv has gained greater control and streamlined its distribution process, significantly reducing time to market, according to Zixi, adding that the transition provides increased visibility and flexibility, eliminating the dependency on third parties to launch channels and reducing delays that could last weeks or months.

“wedotv has reached a point where taking control of our content delivery was essential, providing us with the flexibility we need to expand our business on our terms,” said Philipp Rotermund, Co-CEO of wedotv. “Zixi has worked flawlessly from the start, offering us the flexibility and scalability we require to compete.”

Valerio Motti, Managing Director Europe at Zixi, added: “Zixi has been enabling clients to deliver live video over IP for over 15 years, and we are excited to partner with wedotv and be part of its journey. Zixi-as-a-Service offers a complete package of infrastructure and platform solutions, allowing customers to concentrate on business growth and revenue generation opportunities.”

Headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, wedotv is a platform agnostic free streaming sports and entertainment network, which is available in all major app stores around the globe. The company’s FAST Channel portfolio includes wedotv BIG stories (in partnership with BIG Media), wedotv movies, wedotv sports and wedotv amor. From its base serving the UK, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, wedotv expanded to the Nordics, Benelux and Italy in 2023 and will launch in the US and MENA in 2024.
