Two remote controls from t4h have between them won four awards at the Red Dot Design Awards 2024.
The KOTTO and OLO were entered under Home Entertainment and Innovative Products.
The Portuguese company says the remote controls aren’t just functional tools, but also “thoughtfully designed pieces that enhance the aesthetics of modern living spaces”.
The award in TV and Home Entertainment is put down to “aesthetics, unique design, and sustainable manufacturing”.
“Each Red Dot Award is a testament to our team’s dedication and a deep understanding of user-centric design. With the KOTTO and OLO, we pushed the limits of traditional remote controls, focusing on how the design communicates with the user both visually and tactilely. It’s gratifying to see our efforts recognised on such a prestigious platform,” said Tiago Sousa, Product Designer, t4h.
In the Innovative Products category, t4h says its pioneering approach included the use of advanced materials, innovative form factors, and technical solutions like enhanced connectivity features and energy efficiency.
“Our objective with the KOTTO and OLO was to redefine the user experience through innovative technical solutions. This Red Dot recognition reaffirms our strategy and commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in product design. We’re not just creating gadgets; we’re enhancing interactions between technology and end-users,” said Ton den Ouden, Chief Technology Officer, t4h.
Among the features deployed by t4h are Wi-Fi and IR, voice search, audio, motion and of course TV operation.
