
TF1 journalist Guillaume Debré has taken charge of the French rolling news channel LCI.
The son of the former president of the National Assembly and the Constitutional Council Jean-Louis Debré will replace Fabien Namias who is joining rival BFM TV .
The new managing director will report to Thierry Thuillier, Deputy Chief Information Officer of the TF1 group.
“Guillaume Debré’s mission will be to pursue the development of the TF1 group’s all-news channel, by asserting its premium positioning. He will also be responsible for revitalizing the channel’s schedule and winning over new audiences,” TF1 said in a statement.
Debré began his career as a journalist for CNN and covered Barack Obama’s presidential election in 2008.
