Nelonen Media implements Axinom DRM

August 28, 2024 09.11 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

Nelonen Media, a Finnish commercial broadcast company under the Sanoma Oy umbrella, has selected Axinom DRM to secure its extensive video content library.

As a leading broadcaster in Finland, Nelonen Media offers a diverse range of video content, including live broadcasts, on-demand videos, and exclusive shows, necessitating a reliable and flexible DRM solution.

Nelonen Media adopted Axinom DRM to meet its need for a multi-DRM service that ensures premium content protection across various devices, fulfills the requirements of content partners, and efficiently manages peak demand. Axinom DRM’s compatibility with PlayReady, FairPlay, and Widevine] DRM technologies provides Nelonen Media with the comprehensive security required to protect its content in a complex distribution environment.

Tero Vedenoja, Head of Online Development at Nelonen Media, highlighted the importance of securing their premium content: “Protecting our premium content is paramount to maintaining the trust of our audience and content partners.”

“Nelonen Media’s successful deployment of Axinom DRM is a testament to the system’s robustness and efficiency. The extensive documentation of Axinom DRM and ease of integration with our current AWS infrastructure made the process much easier,” added Tero. “We are now well-equipped to handle the increasing demand for our content while ensuring its protection across all platforms and devices.”

“Our multi-DRM service is crafted to meet the demands of content platforms handling high-demand premium content with diverse requirements,” said Johannes Jauch, CTO of Axinom. “We are proud to become Nelonen Media’s preferred choice for content protection.”

By integrating Axinom DRM, Nelonen Media has fortified its content protection strategy and enhanced its ability to offer its vast audience uninterrupted and secure viewing experiences. Nelonen Media benefits from the 99.999% SLA, guaranteed capacity, and high scalability Axinom DRM offers. This supports the milestone in Nelonen Media’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, secure content to viewers in Finland and beyond.
