TF1 Group has signed a series of agreements that will expand the range of audio-visual content available as part of its TF1+ streaming platform.
The first partners are sports publication L’Equipe, newspaper Le Figaro and audio streamer Deezer.
TF1 Group says the aggregation model allows third-party publishers to benefit from additional revenue by leveraging the video advertising market through the platform.
Six months after its launch, TF1+ is attracting 4 million daily streamers and 33 million
monthly streamers. A new record was set in May with 35.4 million streamers.
“With these first aggregation agreements, we are taking a new step in our digital acceleration strategy,” said Rodolphe Belmer, Chairman and CEO, TF1 Group. “The aggregation of publishers, a reference third party for the public, will allow us to strengthen the attractiveness of our platform and increase the range of programs available at any time for our users. For our new partners L’Équipe, Le Figaro and Deezer, TF1+ constitutes a fantastic exhibition and I am delighted of these agreements which recognize the strength of quality content acclaimed by the public, which is the brand of our Group.”
L’Équipe will stream its linear channel and associated catch up content. It has rights to Le Mans 24-hour Rally, the Nations League, the Spanish Cup, the Alpine skiing world championship, and matches featuring the French Handball teams.
TF1+ will make Deezer Sessions available, recordings of live performances from the most popular artists of the moment. A new “powered by Deezer” tagline will be used by some of the group’s major franchises.
TF1+ will also broadcast the Le Figaro TV channel which offers news and culture, and the new Top Info format which looks at the 3 most popular topics of the day.
