BBC Studios appoints Marcin Boroszko as Director of Ad Sales for CEE

July 8, 2024 13.13 Europe/London By Julian Clover

BBC Studios has announced the appointment of Marcin Boroszko to the newly created role of Director of Ad Sales, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

Boroszko will be based in Warsaw and report to Bartosz Witak, General Manager for CEE at BBC Studios. Responsible for developing and implementing innovative advertising sales strategies for the region and identifying new business opportunities across multiple platforms, Marcin took up his new position on 1 July 2024.

With over three decades of experience in the media industry, Marcin most recently served on the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee of Kino Polska. His tenure as Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of Ringier Axel Springer Polska and Onet (2016-2019), saw Marcin successfully merge the ad sales teams of RASP and Onet, enhancing team engagement and performance. Prior to this, as CEO for advertising specialist AtMedia Group Marcin oversaw operations across Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary increasing the group’s market share and revenue.

Bartosz Witak, General Manager for CEE said, “Marcin brings a wealth of experience across TV, online video, and ad sales to this new role, which has been created in line with our ambition to drive growth and innovation in the region. We are thrilled to have Marcin join the local team where his expertise and insight will play a crucial role as we continue to expand and diversify our offering.”

Marcin Boroszko said: “I am excited to join BBC Studios and take on this new role. The CEE region offers tremendous growth potential, and I look forward to working with the team to develop innovative advertising solutions that will drive success for our partners and enhance our audience’s experience”.

BBC Studios continues to build its presence in the CEE region. In June premium drama channel BBC First launched in the Czech Republic with O2, and Slovak Telecom in Slovakia. Advertising sales has also been introduced to the BBC Earth and BBC First channels in Romania.
