Paramount Global has announced an increase in its subscription prices to its Paramount+ streaming service.
The company, which is still on the market following Skydance’s failed attempt to buy the group, is looking to pay off debt.
The ad-supported Paramount+ Essential tier will increase from $5.99 to $7.99 a month, while its premium Paramount+ with Showtime tier will rise from $11.99 to $12.99 a month.
While fellow streaming services Netflix, Disney+ and Peacock have all increased their rates, this will be the second rise that Paramount has announced over the last year.
Paramount is still looking for a partner for its streaming business which has 71 million subscribers, in contrast with Netflix’s 270 million.
