Telemach Slovenia, a subsidiary of the European telecom and pay-TV giant United Group, has announced its intention to acquire a significant stake in rival firmT-2.
The deal, revealed this week, will see Telemach securing at least 98.06% of T-2 from Garnol, a company owned by entrepreneur Jurij Krc.
The acquisition, which is subject to due dilligence, will expand Telemach Slovenia’s network capabilities and bolster its investment in cutting-edge technologies, products, and user experiences.
Tomislav Cizmic, CEO of Telemach Slovenia, said the merger would facilitate expanded investments in telecommunications infrastructure, diverse content, advanced technologies, and innovative services, ultimately elevating customer satisfaction.
Founded in 2004, T-2 provides fixed internet, mobile telephony, and television services. Notably, the Ljubljana District Court recently initiated insolvency proceedings for Gratel, another entity under Krc’s ownership, which holds a 1.68% stake in T-2.
