Google has debuted a new advertising network that offers targeted in-stream videos in the 125 channels available on Google TV in the United States.
In a blog post, Amit Ghorawat. Group Product Manager, YouTube Ads said advertisers were already taking advantage of YouTube’s reach. According the Nielsen’s Streaming Platform Ratings, in the US, YouTube is pulling in 150 million monthly viewers.
Google TV has access to 20 million Google TV and other Android TV OS devices including Sony, Hisense, TCL, and Chromecast.
The Google TV network is available directly through Google Ads and Google Display & Video 360. Google says this will allow advertisers to plan, buy, and measure Google TV campaigns alongside existing digital video campaigns. Included are non-skippable and 6-second bumpers ads.
Ghorawat’s post also provides some detail on how much Google TV is being consumed in the United States. 60% of households now watch free, ad-supported streaming services and channels. Google TV’s free channels are watched for an average of over 75 minutes per day
