SkyShowtime reveals line-up for rest of 2024

June 3, 2024 13.28 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Billy Bob Thornton in oil industry drama Landman

Newly announced SkyShowtime Original Series Las Pelotaris 1926 and Mamen Mayo, and a documentary about Danish sporting legend Schmeichel lead SkyShowtime’s slate in the second half of the year.

New series also include Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace’s Landman starring Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore and The Day of the Jackal starring Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch.

Returning series include Frasier, Poker Face, Lioness, Tulsa King and the much-anticipated second half of the fifth series of Kevin Costner’s modern western Yellowstone.

SkyShowtime Chief Content Officer Kai Finke said: “SkyShowtime’s entertainment offering is more compelling than ever for our members and the next year is set to be even bigger and better. We’re particularly proud to share the news about our latest local original commissions in Spain and Denmark, complementing our line-up of global exclusive series and movies.

Through Schmeichel and Klitschko: More Than a Fight, SkyShowtime is again demonstrating that streaming services need sport, and if live sport is not available, then the behind the scenes story is also worth telling.

Original Series also include Spanish series Las Pelotaris 1926 and Mamen Mayo. The streaming service has also recently announced the cast for Polish SkyShowtime Original Series ?leboda which started filming in April. This is the first locally commissioned SkyShowtime Original production created for Polish audiences which stars Maria D?bska (Autum Girl, Playing Hard), Maciej Musia? (Klangor, 1899) and Piotr Pacek (Kos, Sexify) in leading roles.

Existing original series on SkyShowtime, drawn from owners ParamountGlobal and Comcast’s Sky library include Bosé, Codename: Annika, Fleeting Lies (Mentiras Pasajeras), Poker Face, The Curse, The Envoys (Los Enviados), The Invisible Ladies (Las Invisibles), The Tattooist of Auschwitz, The Winner (Ví?az), Veronika, and Warszawianka.
