Vodafone Deutschland is now offering TV households a new CI+ module for the reception of encrypted TV channels.
The module, which does not require a smartcard, is aimed at viewers who want to avoid a set-top box, cabling and a second remote control.
The ‘CI+ Modul Smart’, which grants access to HD channels and pay-TV services, is inserted into the CI+ slot of the TV set. The module costs €3 per month. It is activated when booking the Basic TV tariff for €3.99 per month.
The CI+ module complements the new generation of the GigaTV boxes that Vodafone Deutschland is introducing on 28 May 2024. The Android TV-based devices are, for the first time, suitable for both classic cable TV (DVB-C) and streaming (OTT).
