ITVX had a good start to the year as the streaming service grew hours by 16%.
There was a 14% increase in digital advertising revenues in the quarter to March 31, 2024, as total adverting revenue grew by 3%.
“ITVX continued to build on its strong first year and delivered double-digit growth in both digital viewing and digital advertising revenues in Q1 and we expect continued strong growth in both throughout the year,” said ITV chief executive Carolyn McCall.
ITV said that its monthly active users were in line with expectations, though there was a small hit from the decision to fold BritBox into ITVX into the UK market.
The broadcaster maintained its ability to achieve mass reach for its advertisers, with 91% of the top 1,000 commercially broadcast TV programmes and 33.7% share of commercial viewing on its linear television channels.
Total revenue was down 7% at £887 million with growth in total advertising revenue offset by the decline in ITV Studios revenue.
