Vereinigte Stadtwerke to launch TV service with Zattoo

April 3, 2024 13.30 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Regional energy network operator Vereinigte Stadtwerke is launching its own IPTV service.

The German company has partnered with Zattoo to launch the white-label end-to-end TV service VS Media IPTV.

VS Media IPTV will offer over 130 TV channels in SD and HD quality, including four foreign languages, one Family HD and a Premium HD package to subscribers in the German federal states of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The service can be viewed through Zattoo’s new Strong HP44H set-top box, Android Mobile, iOS, Web Client and Amazon Fire TV.

“Our strategic partnership with Vereinigte Stadtwerke is a successful example of fast and effective collaboration between our customers, our content partners and Zattoo “, said Jörg Meyer, Chief Commercial Officer at Zattoo. “In the ongoing development of our TV-as-a-Service platform, we are focusing on new technologies that allow regional providers to grow quickly and in a particularly customer-friendly way in highly competitive markets all over Europe. With this, a supposedly ‘small’ provider like Vereinigte Stadtwerke can join the growing ranks of FAST channels offerings inside of a state-of-the-art end-to-end white-label offering.”

The service includes a network PVR, Instant Restart, 7-day catch-up, and 14 FAST channels. The offer is available in two variants: A basic package, containing live and public TV channels in HD besides private channels in SD in two concurrent streams. Besides this, a premium package will feature non-linear TV options with 10 hours of recording included plus commercial channels in HD through up to 5 concurrent streams. Also available are add-on packages, providing 100 or 200 hours of recording, Premium HD, Family HD and additional language packages.

Vereinigte Stadtwerke subscribers will be able to log in securely via their customer number to their set-top box and allow the operator to provide them faster and improved service via Zattoo’s Bridge offering.
