Ukrainian international channels Freedom and Dom that broadcast from the Eutelsat Hot Bird neighbourhood have reportedly been jammed.
Freedom says the technical services company SE MPIU recorded the programmes were interrupted at 09:50 on March 16. By 10.30 Freedom was broadcasting the caption “ZA LIFE!”, while Dom was transmitting a blank screen. By 10.46 normal programming had been restored.
Freedom broadcasts news and information in the Russian language to viewers overseas.
Ukrainian channels that share the multiplex were also affected.
Eutelsat has reported the incident to the French authorities, who are investigating.
SE MPIU is the subject of regular attacks in its operations. In January, websites belonging to Freedom were attached on two occasions.
