Belgian telco Proximus is enhancing the reach and device variety of its multiscreen service Pickx with several new apps designed and delivered by German software solutions provider 3SS.
The apps for Apple TV, and iOS and Android tablets and smartphones, expand Proximus’ set-top box-based next-generation IPTV+OTT TV service, based on Android TV Operator Tier, available to Proximus’ TV subscriber base, comprising over 1.65 million homes.
Proximus will gradually start distributing the new V7 compact set-top box – the Quartz from Vantiva, formerly known as Technicolor. Based on Android 12, the latest version of the Android operating system, the receiver provides an enhanced user experience with several new features such as Wi-Fi 6 technology.
Designed as an aggregation platform, Pickx offers more than 100 live TV channels. Netflix, Disney+ and in-house sports offering Pickx Sports are bundled and deeply integrated.
Proximus selected 3SS to deliver its multiscreen offerings in 2022. This followed the launch on an Android TV Operator Tier set-top box in 2020.
