French communications regulator Arcom has issued a call for applications for national TV and radio stations to be broadcast over the DTT system.
It comes ahead of the expiry in 2025 of licences currently held by 15 services: Canal +, C8, W9, TMC, TFX, NRJ 12, BFM TV, CNews, CStar, Gulli, LCI, Canal + Cinéma, Canal + Sport, Planète + and Paris Première.
Arcom says it expects the successful applicants to broadcast in the high definition format.
Applications need to be with the Authority by noon on May 7, 2024. It will then issue applicants with the details needed to submit their application in fully by noon on May 15, 2024.
Public hearings will take place during the summer before a final decision is made at the end of the year.
