Baltcom has announced it will combine with rival Bite Latvija with the merged company offering consumers a 5G mobile network, television, and data centres for customer hardware under the Bite Latvija brand.The business also includes Go3 TV, acquired by Bite from Viasat in 2017.
“The merger of the two companies is a step closer to our long-term development goal – to strengthen the position of Bite Latvija in the market of electronic communications services and ICT by offering customers the widest possible portfolio of services,” said Arunas Mickevicius, CEO, Bite Latvia.
The purchase agreement for the acquisition of 100% of Baltcom was originally signed by Bite Latvija in September 2019, before receiving the permission of the competition council in February 2020.

Since 2016, Bite has been owned by Providence Equity, who acquired the business from Mid Europa Partners.
The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed.
