February 1, 2024 12.35 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Media Press Group has announced the acquisition of Ljubljana-based IECom.

In a statement, Media Press said the move reinforced its commitment to providing European TV operators, streaming services, and broadcasters with superior data solutions, cutting-edge technology, and comprehensive editorial services.

IECom is Slovenia’s leading metadata supplier and supplies editorial services to the majority of TV operators and streamers in the country.

“Europe presents a unique tapestry of linguistic diversity, varied TV viewer preferences, and content offerings. At Media Press Group, we are dedicated to offering our clients globally-informed solutions that are further enriched with localized editorial expertise, content, and dedicated customer support,” said Magdalena Cechnicka, CEO of Media Press.

With the acquisition, IECom customers will benefit from Media Press’ proprietary, real-time, cloud-based metadata management solutions, advanced photo and sports services, and the groundbreaking media CMS solution, Hubert CS Content Selector.

Matej Eljon, Co-Founder of IECom, said: “Joining forces with Media Press Group marks a significant milestone for IECom. This partnership is not just a testament to our past achievements but a gateway to a future where we can leverage Media Press Group’s extensive resources and innovative technologies. Our shared vision for delivering exceptional TV metadata solutions and editorial services will undoubtedly propel us to new heights in the European market. We are excited to embark on this journey, enhancing our offerings to our clients and setting new industry standards together.”

Media Press clients include Canal+, Orange, Vodafone, Liberty Global, Sky, France Television, ARD, RTL, 4iG, and TV3 Baltics.
