German broadcaster Berliner Fernseh Gruppe and German cable operator association DNMG have concluded a long-term framework agreement for the distribution of the new free-TV channel DOKUSAT.
DOKUSAT shows documentaries 24/7, including nature and animal films as well as reports on ecology and sustainability.
The agreement enables the channel, which launched in January 2024, to secure further relevant reach among the more than 200 cable operators organised in DNMG and take a major step towards full distribution on German cable TV.
“With DOKUSAT, we are delighted to be able to offer our network operators and their customers a young and fresh documentary channel again with immediate effect. With the launch of the channel, we will immediately reach well over two million households through distribution on the networks of our DNMG network operators,” said Damian Lohmann, Senior Manager Partner Relations at DNMG.
“Our thanks go to DNMG for making it possible for DOKUSAT to distribute our premium documentary offer as free-TV to up to 200 DNMG network operators. We are looking forward to the Germany-wide distribution on cable,” added Marko Wünsch, Managing Director of DOKUSAT.
