Rai Italia, the international service of the Italian public broadcaster, is to expand broadcasts into the UK and Spain.
A new distribution agreement with World Stream will also include Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Malta, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Romania , Moldova, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania which join Germany, Hungary and Luxembourg.
World Stream is a subsidiary of the Melbourne publishing group Il Globo, founded in 2016 with the aim of providing a paper and digital information service to communities of Italian residents, in Italian and English.
It already has agreements in place for the distribution of Rai Italia in Australia and South America.
Rai Italia is available in 40 million homes through satellite, cable, IPTV and OTT platforms on all continents.
