Romanian-owned Digi Communications has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement to buy up assets from Spain’s Orange and MásMóvil to help facilitate a merge between the two companies. According to Bloomberg, the agreement could be signed by the end of the year, capping months of negotiations.
This, in turn, would clear up any final obstacles in obtaining permission from the European Commission for the merger to proceed.
Previously, Orange announced it was hopeful in obtaining the go-ahead for the merger by the end of the year.
The proposed merger between Orange and MásMóvil was first announced in July 2022.
