The Slovenian public broadcaster RTVS is expected to receive an additional €5 million this year and another €10 million in 2024.
According to N1, the figures are unofficial and were agreed following several meetings of the RTVS administration and government representatives.
It adds that RTVS’s losses this year are likely to be in the region of €10.5 million.
Broadband TV News notes that prior to the additional funding being agreed RTVS was considering considerable cutbacks including the abolition of music production and closure of regional broadcasters in Koper and Maribor.
It remains to be seen which if any of these will now take place.
