German broadcaster Sport1 is launching its first free, ad-financed streaming channel in collaboration with Samsung TV Plus.
Sport1 Motor shows documentaries and other programmes about cars 24/7 – from electric vehicles to luxury sports cars. The new FAST Channel can be received in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on Samsung smart TVs and Galaxy devices via the free Samsung TV Plus app.
“We have closely monitored the development of FAST Channels and are convinced that entering the market is also promising for us. With the move, we are establishing a further pillar in our multi-platform strategy, expanding our distribution channels and forms of commercialisation,” said Andreas Gerhardt, Chief Distribution Officer of Sport1.
“We want to offer a suitable product for the respective distribution platforms and have opted for proven and successful TV series in the FAST environment. With Samsung TV Plus, we have found a well-respected partner for the launch. We are also planning expansion to other platforms,” added Gerhardt.
