O2 TV has secured the TV rights to the Czech premier football league (Fortuna.Liga) until 2029.
Commenting on the development, Anna Lenerová, head of content at O2, said: “We managed to succeed in another key tender, where we proved that O2 TV, as the only television, can meet the strictest criteria for producing broadcasts and supporting all Fortuna.Liga clubs. For the viewers, we have won the most watched football content that we can have today in the years to come. The Czech Football League ideally complements other premium offers such as the UEFA Champions League, the English Premier League, the German Bundesliga or the Spanish La Liga”.
Marek Kindernay, executive director of O2 TV Sport, added: “Our successful journey in broadcasting Fortuna.Liga continues for at least the next five seasons. We do it mainly for the viewers, because we value their interest very much.Already today, O2 TV is available to almost 800,000 customers, viewership is breaking historical records. It turns out that our premium channels offer unique opportunities for advertisers and also for the league clubs that we help significantly. Thanks to O2 TV, they will receive significantly more funds, which they can invest in youth development, stadium improvements or fan activations. I dare to say that we will now be among the biggest supporters of Czech sports”.
