Former Scotland Yard detective Neil Whitbread has been appointed investigations manager for anti-piracy organisation FACT.
Whitbread has two decades of expertise in specialist serious and organised crime units. Since leaving policing, Whitbread has worked on numerous projects in local government, leading regulatory and compliance investigations. He has also project-managed due diligence, intelligence, and risk advisory services to professional global football clubs and governing bodies.
FACT CEO, Kieron Sharp said: “It is my great pleasure to welcome Neil on board. Neil is a vastly experienced, professional investigator with unique expertise and skills and his experience in so many fields will be a great asset to FACT and our evolving areas of business”.
In his new capacity at FACT, Whitbread will focus on corporate investigations, intelligence analysis, and enhanced due diligence to its clients.
“I am delighted to be joining FACT, who have such a strong pedigree and standing globally in the investigations and due diligence industry,” he said. “I am grateful to Kieron Sharp and Eddy Leviten for giving me the opportunity and responsibility to help maintain those high standards. I look forward to developing new opportunities and relationships with FACT”.
Whitbread was previously Football Investigations, Intelligence and Risk Specialist for private investigators Silverseal, where he looked into the backgrounds of players on behalf of clubs, to establish if they would need support outside of the game.
