Apple has become the latest streamer to increase the cost of a monthly subscription following similar moves by Netflix and Disney.
The $3 increase to $9.99 is one of a number of Apple services to see their cost rise. The cost of Apple News+ is being raised by $4 and will now cost $12.99. Apple Arcade and the Apple One bundle will also see increases.
Existing subscribers will see the price change take effect within the next 30 days or on their next renewal date.
Last week Netflix said it would raise subscription prices in the United States, UK, and France, while in August Disney announced a 27% increase of its ad-free tier.
Netflix Subscribers in the United States will now pay $11.00 for a Basic plan and $22.99 for a Premium plan, up from $9.99 and $19.99 respectively. The $6.99 ad-supported plan and $15.49 Standard plan remain unchanged.
The Disney ad free plan is now $13.99 a month in the United States, a $3 increase, and double the $6.99 monthly cost at launch in 2019.
