A consortium led by the Asian fund RRJ Capital has emerged as another potential bidder for Vodafone Spain.
According to Cinco Dias, quoting Bloomberg, sources familiar with the matter say that the consortium is analysing making an offer for the company, which could be valued at up to €5 billion.
It adds that the fund and its partners would design the financing to undertake the acquisition.
Significantly, RRJ Capital invested €500 million in the IPO of Vodafone’s Vantage Towers in 2021 and still retains a 3% stake in the tower company.
Other potential bidders for Vodafone Spain include Apollo Global Management, Warburg Pincus and Zegona.
