This was announced by Dr Markus Schäfer, President and CEO of ZDF Studios, at the Sundowner event on the eve of MIPCOM 2023 in Cannes.
The new channel will make content from the catalogue of German public broadcaster ZDF’s commercial subsidiary available to Spanish-speaking viewers in Latin America and the Hispanic market in the US.
The launch is scheduled for Q2 2024 and the programme line-up will focus on drama.
With the move, ZDF Studios increases its engagement in the FAST Channels market. The German production and distribution company recently announced a partnership with Samsung TV Plus, launching a total of 20 FAST Channels across Europe.
