Sergey Ivanov has been appointed the DG of the Russian national video hosting service RUTUBE, which is owned by Gazprom-Media.
Using his experience at the vertical video application Yappy, he will engage in the strategic development of the video platform and expand its functionality.
One of Ivanov’s priorities will be the development of digital services for consuming media content in both long horizontal and short vertical formats. He will also be actively working with authors and expanding the motivation programme.
Commenting on his appointment, Ivanov said: “For me this is a great responsibility and at the same time a very interesting task. Today, video accompanies us everywhere: on large screens and in smartphones. It is important for content creators to be present on different platforms and in different formats. And I want to continue to develop RUTUBE for both viewers and authors”.
At the same time, Ivanov will continue to work on Yappy as director of strategic development.
