The UK telecom investment group Zegona Communications is reportedly in advanced talks with investment banks to secure funding to buy Vodafone’s Spanish operation.
Quoting a source close to the matter, Expansion adds that any bid would value the unit at over €5 billion and Zegona would acquire only a 50% stake.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Vodafone Spain has already attracted interest from buyers, with venture capital funds putting in offers of up to €3.7 billion earlier this year.
Zegona was previously present in Spain through the cable operator Euskaltel. It sold its 21.4% stake in the company to MásMóvil for €428 million in August 2021.
