The DVB Project has commemorated its 30th Anniversary with a party alongside IBC2023.
A packed room heard Ulrich Reimers describe how the organisation’s founders had persuaded Brussels that Europe should be allowed to leave behind technologies such as HD Mac and move to something digital.
“We founded DVB in September of 1993, very officially in the premises of the German Ministry of Post and Telecommunication,” he said. “And that was the start of DVB, exactly 30 years ago. I would have never imagined how successful DVB would be over all these years.”
DVB World, the project’s annual conference, is heading to Munich on 19 and 20 March 2024, at the smart village Bogenhausen. The event will combine a half-day conference with a full day of unconference.
