The Ukrainian operator Volia has re-introduced Viasat’s channels to its offer.
Commenting on the development, Anastasia Ryzhenko, head of Volia’s media department, said: “We are very happy that such popular and rated TV channels as Viasat are returning to our network. Considering the fact that we already provide access to the channels of the Discovery group, as well as to the broadcast of matches of the Champions League and other top football, we can say that our collection of channels is the largest in Ukraine and can satisfy the needs of the most demanding viewers”.
Broadband TV News notes that Viasat’s channels were removed from the offers of most operators in Ukraine earlier this year at the request of the regulator National Council, citing concerns about the company’s ownership links to Russia.
However, since then they have been re-introduced by – amongst others – Triolan, Kyivstar TV, McLaut and Megogo.
