Alex Ruzek, a long-time programme director at Nova, has been appointed to the same position at Prima, effective September 13.
She will replace Roman Mrazek, whose further work at Prima is still being discussed.
Commenting on the development, Marek Singer, CEO of the Prima Group, said: “I’d like to thank Roman for the long way he went with Prima. During his ten-year tenure as programme director, we launched six thematic channels, starting with the documentary channel Prima Zoom and ending with the reality channel Prima Show. Thanks to programme profiling of individual broadcast slots, we successfully caught up with the commercial competition in viewership and became the market leader among adult viewers. We are currently discussing with Roman his new position, where he would capitalise on his long-term experience and at the same time focus on new areas of the media environment”.

Alex Ruzek will be a significant addition to our team thanks to his rich experience both from the local market and from working abroad. We believe that her excellent orientation in the area of trends in the creation of video content will strengthen our position on the Czech market in the long term”.
Ruzek said: “During the last few years, from the perspective of the competition, I have watched the excellent work that the Prima group has been doing and thanks to which it is continuously growing. My goal now will be to continue this trend and continue to strengthen the position of the market leader. I look forward to contributing to a clearer programming strategy that will even better accentuate the content and themes that today’s viewers want to see, regardless of how they consume video content”.
Ruzek has been working in the media environment for almost two decades, of which she worked for more than a decade as programme director of the Nova group. She previously gained professional experience in the position of general manager of the Czech-Slovak version of MTV and in the position of manager for financial planning and analysis within the London branch of the CME group. In the past, she also worked for the investment groups Credit Suisse First Boston or Tailwind Capital Partners/Thomas Weisel Capital Partners.
