Poland’s Polsat Plus Group saw its contracted pay-TV subscriber base shrink by 4.3% in the year to June 30.
As of the end of Q2 it stood at 4,895,000, down from 5,117,000 a year earlier. Its total contracted B2C base, which besides pay-TV also includes mobile telephony, fell by 2.4% over the year to 5,848,000.
In its latest results, the group says that the main reason behind the decrease was the declining popularity of the satellite technology as well as the continued process of merging contracts under one common contract for the household within its base.
It adds that churn for its B2C services remained low at 7.3% (+0.5pp year-on-year). Furthermore, it expects that growing popularity of 5G tariff plans, coupled with our more-for-more strategy, as well as continued expansion of its content, will be reflected in the level of ARPU.
