SkyShowtime has unveiled the teaser-trailer for Codename: Annika at Stockholm International Film Festival’s outdoor cinema (Sommarbio).
The six-part crime drama series, created by Mia Ylönen and Aleksi Bardy, is the first original created for the Swedish-Finnish streaming market by the Comcast-Paramount JV.
The series is led by Sannah Nedergård (Yellow Sulphur Sky) as Finnish art fraud investigator Emma/Annika, marking her first leading role in a drama series.
SkyShowtime CEO Monty Sarhan said: “As a streaming service created specifically for Europe, we are excited to introduce Codename: Annika to SkyShowtime subscribers. This will be our first Swedish-Finnish original series and is a fantastic twist on the Nordic Noir genre available exclusively on SkyShowtime this September. The series is directed by the brilliant AJ Annila and both Annila and Nedergård are joined by an equally talented and strong Swedish and Finnish cast.”
Codename: Annika has received development support from Finnish Film Foundation and Creative Europe Programme – MEDIA of the European Union and is financed by Business Finland – Audiovisual Production Incentive. Co-creators for Helsinki-Filmi are Mia Ylönen and Aleksi Bardy.
It will debut on SkyShowtime in September.
