The Portuguese regulator ANACOM has fined Meo €117,500 for non-compliance with rules applicable to the construction, access and installation of networks and electronic communications.
In a statement, ANACOM says that at issue are four offences for Meo not having used the telecoms infrastructure already installed in buildings, having made changes to the infrastructures in question, when these made it possible to support the services to be provided and the technology to be made available, and an offence for having carried out the connection of the buildings’ telecom infrastructure to the public communications networks prior to the issuance of the respective term of responsibility for carrying out the installation.
ANCOM concludes by saying that the deadline for Meo contesting the decision is still running.
