Joj Group’s new documentary channel Joj Svet will officially make its debut on August 15.
According to the Slovak broadcaster, it will gradually be made available to individual subscribers of satellite, cable, IPTV and OTT operators, with the first to carry the channel being Slovak Telekom.
Joj Svet will offer best and latest documentaries from around the world in the Slovak language, with its content also being shown on Joj’s streaming platform. It will only show content released from 2011 onwards.
Marcel Grega, head of Joj Group, said: “I am proud that Joj TV will enrich the programme offer with a documentary channel that is in demand by viewers, which will bring a wide range of genres, a space for domestic creators and the expected added value in the form of educational programmes”.
Martina Cyprichova, head of Joj Svet, added: “I believe that JOJ Svet will be a meaningful television station that will bring joy, well-being, relaxation, information, new facts. Personally, I am attracted to cooperation and support of Slovak documentary production, whether cooperation with important names of Slovak documentary production, or with students whose work deserves attention”.
Joj Svet will the group’s ninth Slovak channel and the 14th overall in its portfolio.
